Three new graduate programs added
February 6, 2008
Students seeking advanced degrees from Wayne State University now have three more options:
The marriage and family psychology program is now a major within the educational psychology area in the College of Education. Beginning in fall 2008, the program will offer a unique program by preparing students as both counseling and relational psychologists.
The doctor of nursing practice program in the College of Nursing will be a practice- (not research) based, program addressing the complex changes occurring in the health care system. Nurses will be trained to improve patient care and safety, strengthen translational research and utilization, improve access to care and enhance health policy promotion and development. The program is designed to ensure that adequate numbers of advanced practice nurses are available by 2015.
The graduate bridge certificate program in world history will begin in fall 2008, providing advanced training in world history to history teachers and those preparing to become history teachers.
